June 12-14th 2018 - Alabama Educational Technology Conference - at the Birmingham- Jefferson Convention Complex......

.......January 29th we are at Tedx Augusta to show off the Zortrax M200 and talk your head off about 3D printing in Georgia and beyond.

We hope to get to meet some pretty cool people in the process.

The Weber School

Starting January 6th 2016 we're excited to be engaged in a 5 month long 3D Printing elective with The Weber School.

The printers are ready to go in the discovery lab and this pilot project promises to be an adventure for all involved. Contact us for more information on our STEM, STEAM, and education initiatives for your school, after-school group, or home school co-operative.

On Sunday January 24 2016, The Weber School will be hosting the regional event of the Georgia Educational Technology Fair. This is an annual student technology competition and is the highest level of student technology competition in Georgia with over 750 projects, representing the work of 1000+ students from grades 3 - 12. Categories include 3D Modeling, Animation, Digital Photography, Game Design, Mobile Apps, Programming, Robotics, Video production and more.

The regional event - the North Atlanta Jewish Students Technology Fair - is one of many regional events; winners go on the the State competition in Macon (March 6, 2016.)

PaliProto 3D is looking forward to a day of technology awesomeness and our team will have a booth in in attendance.

East Side Elementary School logo

We will be holding 3D printing workshops for 100+ kids at East Side Elementary in Marietta GA on January 13th and 14th 2016. We'll be taking the students through an entire process and design based walk through as part of an age and audience appropriate custom defined curriculum.

Stay tuned for an update on this event!

Cartersville Middle School

We had a blast with the kids at the at Cartersville Middle school on Dec 8th 2015. 20+ students as part of a AAUW sponsored event. It was great to see these excited young minds introduced to 3D Printing. See below for excerpts from this lovely article by Donna Harris. The penguins will be coming home soon!

"The Cartersville-Bartow American Association of University Women is working hard to introduce girls to careers that once were considered nontraditional fields for women. Its latest effort was a workshop at Cartersville Middle School Tuesday morning to expose 20 eighth-grade girls in its Women in STEM [science, technology, engineering and mathematics] group to one of the newest developments in 3-D technology: the 3-D printer."

"Stanislaw Sliwinski and Tom Laverick from PaliProto in Marietta showed the young women — who were recommended for the group by their seventh-grade science teachers based on their interest and aptitude in science — how to create the designs in their heads using 3-D computer programs and turn them into something they could hold in their hands with the 3-D printer."

News Flash! Zortrax M300 Test Bench Results

After several weeks of testing the Zortrax M300 on limited production runs, we are confidant to announce that the print quality is as high as the "little" brother M200. We concluded our tests and starting December 1, we are adding the Zortrax M300 printer and supported Z-materials to our offerings.

The M300 is certified to run the following Z-Materials: Z-HIPS, Z-GLASS and Z-PETG. On our own we also tested other genuine Zortrax materials. Specifically Z-ABS and Z-PCABS. However due to inconclusive and inconsistent results we are not recommending them yet as an M300 basic filament.

For a Pro Tip: We used Acetone slurry to get good results on medium to large Z-ABS parts. However we found that we needed to ensure a very steady temperature for the entire print time. We had to avoid A/C, vents, fans or any other temperature changing events such as doors and windows being opened or even foot traffic!

Happy printing! - The team at Pali Proto

News Flash! AIRWOLF3D AXIOM

We've ran our new Airwolf3D AXIOM through its paces and it's out on the production floor tackling client jobs.

AXIOM

What a versatile machine.

Come down to check this and other printers out at our retail store.

And speaking of client jobs. We're doing a large Nylon910 run. For this we needed a safe and mobile place to store the the spools to protect them from humidity. Tom and Kuba knocked out a solid solution out of spare items laying around the shop.

It also serves as some pretty snazzy mood lighting!
